Just a few things I want to pass along to you. There has been a spike in auto thefts with a majority of these occurring in the area east of S. Kingshighway to S. Grand and Chippewa to Arsenal. Although this does not fall into the Southampton Neighborhood it is close enough that I feel you need to be cognizant of this and protect yourself by making sure your vehicles are locked and if you have a theft protection device to use that also.

Also, if you’ve read the crime reports you may have noticed there’s been quite a few thefts of lawn mowers and lawn equipment. If you are not using these pieces of equipment make sure they are locked up and secured in your garage. Most of these thefts occurred when the equipment was in not being used and visible in the front/back yards.

Thank you,

Do you want an easy way to communicate with neighbors?  Do you want to help build a stronger, safer community?  Then Nextdoor is the tool for you!  Over 37,000 neighborhoods are using this tool to:
  • learn neighbor’s names
  • quickly get the word out about crime or safety issues
  • get and give recommendations for services such as lawn care, movers, and babysitters
  • sell/share/give away personal items you don’t need/want anymore
Join the Tilles Park Neighborhood in our effort to create a stronger, safer community.  We will be going over this tool at our next Informational Session next Tuesday, July 8th, at 7:00 p.m.  We will be meeting at Buder Library in the large meeting room in the basement.

This will be a hands-on session.  If you would like your own computer, you will need to do the following:
  • have a library card (It expires every year on your birthday so you may need to renew.  If this is the case, you need to provide your ID with your current name and address.)
  • know your PIN for your card
  • schedule a computer for the 7:00-8:00 p.m. time-slot prior to coming.  You can do this by clicking here
If you need any assistance with this, the Buder Branch’s number is 314-352-2900.  You can also buddy up with someone or use your iphone or ipad to explore Nextdoor.

If you are not yet a member of Nextdoor, you can go to the website by clicking here.  Feel free to get familiar with the website prior to coming next week.

Feel free to contact Sarah Fahrner at sarahfahrner2@gmail.com if you have questions about this session.
