easy and not too painful.  The number of signups is one of the most important indicators of how a

branch is doing, so please stop by the library on or after May 4 to help out your neighborhood branch.

MAY IS OLDER AMERICANS MONTH

On Friday, May 15 at 11:30am  Machacek library is hosting a free concert in honor of Older

May 24 ~ Lindenwood Live!

Craig Strohbeck, the Park Chair for the Lindenwood Park Neighborhood Association is reaching out to you for a few reasons:
To ask for your help on Saturday, May 2nd from 9am – noon (or any part of that time)
to help with our Spring Clean-up at Lindenwood Park.  We will prepare the gardens for the summer season, spread mulch, pick up debris and trash, prepare the playground mulch, clear the pavilion, tennis courts and in-line rink of leaves and other debris and walk away PROUD of our Park.  We welcome individuals as well as religious groups, school groups, social groups or local business volunteers.  We always enjoy when the Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts troops can join the fun.  If you can help us connect to any of these groups, please let me know by calling my cell at 314 537-1458 or emailing me at cstrohbeck@gmail.com.

The park gardens are maintained throughout the year by neighborhood volunteers and we truly appreciate those efforts.  Each garden really needs two to three volunteers in order to spread the responsibility.  Those responsibilities are to help prepare the bed on park clean-up days, weed the beds, water as needed and replace plant material as needed.  The LPNA supports these efforts with limited funds for new materials depending on the annual budget.  We need an additional 4 volunteers to help with the garden at Jamieson and Pernod and to help at the corner of Jamieson and Lindenwood.  If you can spare an average of about 1 hour every two weeks, we would greatly appreciate your involvement!

We would like to recognize the City of St. Louis Parks Division, Forestry Division, Construction Division and Refuse Division for all they do throughout the year to maintain the land, grass, parks, trash and facilities.  We are fortunate to have this gem in our neighborhood and have some exciting improvements in store for 2016.  Only a year away from more progress.

Thank you in advance for your interest in our park, our neighborhood and your commitment to keeping it as a top choice to live in the City of St. Louis.

Ward 23 Website

This years 23rd ward budget

$150 thousand is going to pave Hampton from Chippewa to Arsenal the 10th ward is adding $30 thousand for their part of this run

$50 thousand is going for new dumpsters

$30 thousand dollars is going for trees to be planted in the fall

$100 Thousand dollars is going to fund the sidewalk program

$60 thousand dollars is going for alleys

$70 thousand is being held for misc. projects

All though the plan was to pave Fyler this summer we chose not to do it because the gas co. is going to lay pipe down it next year, so it did not make good sense to pave it only to get it torn up.

Hampton will get paved within the next four weeks

This years budget, all though better than the past years, does not hardly cover our needs, but it’s a good start. Most of the work will not start until August.
